P0101 - p0726

Hey guys,

So I'm just trying to get my Beetle ready for winter and two codes recently tripped. P0726 and P0101. P0726 I've read is related to your crank position sensor, and P0101/air mass sens.
So, my MAS was shot about a month ago, and someone I know had a wreck so I got his for cheap. The elements looked in good shape so I figured I'd give it a shot. Before I installed it, I did clean it with throttle body cleaner instead of MAS/MAF cleaner though. I live 50km away from the closest shop, and I thought I had some, but the can was empty...so I used TB cleaner. Will this make a difference?
P0726 showed up just after I did the MAS replacement, which makes me wonder if the two are related some how (not sure how), or just coincidence. What are some of the symptoms of a bad crank sensor in a TDI PD?

Was the wreck a TDI?
I don't think the gassers are the same.

Its a VW shop with a graveyard out back. The guy knows my model, but I didn't actually see him pull it off the donor car, so I cant say. I have to talk to the guy on Monday so I'll ask him than.
