greetings!
I attempted to change my rear shocks on my 03 golf tdi, and was able to change the drivers side with great ease!
However,..... on the passenger side, the rear bolt, of the two bolts which holds the top bracket for the shock to the frame just spins and spins, thus not allowing me to remove the old shock. I figure that there must have been a nut or a threaded part on the inside of the wheel well which was probably welded to the frame and has now come loose, however i can not see that part as it is not accessible through the hatch/trunk.
the only thing i can think of is removing the rear tail light to possibly get in between the inner walls of the frame to see what exactly is spinning in there and hopefully get a pair of vice grips in there or something....
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!
