Cruise control not working

My cruise control stopped working. The light 'cruise' on the dash doesn't come on any more. I cannot find a recent post about this. The car is a 2005 TDI with 215,000m on it. It has been converted to manual. The cruise control has worked after the conversion, even on long trips. Any ideas?

If the light does not come on, then I would suspect the stalk has a bad switch, however, it is best to have VCDS to see if it recognizes the switch functioning.

There is a fuse that the cruise goes through but it supplies power to other engine sensors, so I would think you would have drivability issues if it would run at all, if the fuse was blown

VCDS is the new name - I heard VW was not happy with Ross-Tech's use of "VAG" in the name of their product.
