That is the trigger wire to go from the headlight switch to the CECM if you are doing the install that is activated by the CECM. if you are doing the install that is activated by a relay, that repair wire is not used.

I just ordered a OEM kit from AARodriquez. $150 plus $10 for mounting screws - they say these are all VW parts. Includes the VW Head Light Switch, wiring harness, 2 lights and facia. I will see how this looks and what if anything is missing.

Would you happen to have the part number of a compatible highline replacement handy, or should I be able to just solder the pins into the existing unit?
Does anyone know if this can be done?
When I code the CECM for all or any fog functions it accepts the coding. So to me that would mean that the CECM is capable it just needs the pins.
Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.
