replacement thermostat for '03 wagon

wanting to replace the thermostat on my wife's '03 tdi jetta wagon since I need to change the housing and O-ring. choice of 80 or 87 degree C units--which one to buy??

87 for sure. That is best for fuel mileage. Go to IDparts.com or Kermatdi.com and buy one of the good quality thermostats. I bought the housing and thermostat and changed it myself. Pretty simple. Good luck!
