Yes, he used the stock nv3500 tranny in the dakota.

Incorrect. He used a NV3550. Coty adapter.
Same trans as far as I know.
Its not. NV3550 has the jeep I6 pattern bellhousing. NV3500 that comes in the dakota is a SBD 318 pattern/V6. The NV3500 bellhousing is part of the case and is much bigger. An adapter from http://gastodiesel.tdconversions.com works great. I used that one.
I used the nv3550 from a jeep, not the nv3500 that was in my dakota. its similar internals but a lot different on the out side, as well as a removable bell housing.

Nice Build i was thinking about doing the same thing to my 01 dakota quad cab with the extra Alh i have in the garage that i am rebuilding atm. This will build is going to help me get some ideas. no how did you make the mounts to hold the motor?
i custom made them off the dakotas v6, i usually do that for most of my swaps.
