According to the tutorial on the settlement site, after the offer has been received, signed, and either mailed or scanned and sent to VW, there will be a final approval. The next step is for the Owner/Lessee to schedule a buyback closing online through the portal.
I wonder how far this date can be scheduled out into the future?
I realize many want to get this over with asap and have already purchased replacements or have them parked, but what about those of us who are still driving them out of necessity and not quite ready to replace them for whatever reasons? It might be smart to give yourself time to find a replacement first and coordinate this to make sure you are not rushed into a deal. Also, what if someone were to schedule this for, say, October of 2017? Or 2018?
I don't see anything prohibiting this and wonder if the people who are planning to drive 1042/mo and then buyback at some point could go ahead and get all this taken care of now and then just have to wait for the date they choose?
