J519 MODULE /KEY remotes

I been to my dealer for my key remotes they only work at close proximity like a few feet dealer re programmed remotes new battery’s and work on Kessey with Vw support there suggestion was to replace j519 module price 500.00 plus labor has one else had a problem with remotes and what else does the j519 module control ?

We had a similar issue with the same fix suggested. In addition to the FOB's only working very close to the car (even after batteries were replaced), the clocks restart, the trip meter resets, the car often wont start and random dash lights come on. We paid almost $1K to have the J519 replaced per VW's suggestion. It worked well for a week or so and is now having the same issues.

Did you ever figure out what was going with your car?
