Good evening, so after a month of reading here and in a couple of ecu related forums I got an ebay cable, pulled all the maps and basically just raised the limiters a bit and calculated smoke limiter to always be above 18, turbo pressure was raised to a max of 1.15Bars/2150mBar absolute.
Its a bone stock ALH engine in a Jetta/Bora chassis, with 270k km's.

The only log I have for now is Group 11 to see if I was killing my turbo:

(Thanks Malone for this sweet tool)

The log was done with 5 people on the car(didn't have a lot of time, so grabbed the laptop and during the trip I did the log on the high-way, no cars, legal to go as fast as the 3rd gear pull would put me, gave it a quick glance and was happy because there was no crazy overboost spiking.

So far, it feels like almost a different car, a lot more responsive in any gear, so far fuel usage is a bit higher, because its fun to push it, top speed is the same(195Km/h) but now it pulls decently fast to 180km/h even on hills, I expected that top speed wouldn't change, because the engine is around 4200 rpm in 5th gear at those speeds, and power at those rpm's is dropping from a cliff..

Now, what do the gurus think about the log, should I tweak the N75 map, and what else should I log?

Best regards.

So all you did is raise boost by a bit? That won't get you power. You're going to have to increase fueling too.

Fuel=power.

Boost just equals air to be able to burn the fuel.

No, I raised torque limiter, changed smoke limiter axis for a maximum of 950 mg/str, and then re-calculated the map from 700mg/str up to 950mg/str to always be above 18:1 AFR(I hate smoke, might try to lower it to 17.5-17.8 and try it out), maximum IQ is around 46-47mg/str, drivers wish was also adjusted in the 80 and 100% up to 49mg/str IQ, going by EDC15Suite it peaks at 116Hp.
Also adjusted boost limiter a bit, and raised SVBL to 2200, as well as the start of injection map, added a bit more time for fuel to be injected because I only have the small .186 injector and a 10mm IP.

So, tweaked the remap a bit more, still smoke free, now pulls up to 5k rpm, still with reduced torque at low revs, I logged a couple more groups and req MAF is always at 850, a bit strange, what could cause this?

Need to massage my logs later, they have a bit of driving around and 3rd WOT pulls, so Malone graphs doesn't like them.

turbo needs readjusting mechanically a bit,need to shorten the actuator ,aim for 75% duty cycle@ 4k rpm.

It might be just the N75 map a bit off..
Here are the logs, group 03:
https://log.malonetuning.com/chart/...UL8K4wrxwGExyw5/CsR3Dp8OKw7sVDk5jwqzCpAAAAA==

Group 5:
https://log.malonetuning.com/chart/...HfsO5B8O2P8KOwrNJLRPDm8KpbQhfw6XCjGzDkcKkAAAA

Group 8:

Group 11:

So, my N75/turbo keeps reducing boost around 2400-3000 rpm, for some reason it pulls the N75 duty cycle and causes my boost to lower, I dont have anything like that in my maps, so something must be hapenning.

My startting IQ is 19.9mg/r not sure if this is right or not.

Best regards.

iq at idle 19.9?should be 3-6mg.
Asumming the turbo is fine and there are no leaks yes the lower boost is strange,but first adjust everything else corectly and see after if the lowering boost is back,now you have too many variables :). Requested maf 850 on wot is normal.

Not sure if its starting IQ, on group 005 there is a variable called Starting (mg/R) that is a solid 19.8, not sure what it means.

I will try to adjust the turbo actuator, but I have tried to do so in a friends car, and after 3 guys and 2 hours of fighting and even cutting wrenches for better access/grip we never got the lock nut to move at all :(
