How to get SKC without original cluster

I am helping a fellow member to fix a wrecked 2005 Jetta Wagon, PD obviously.

Someone had taken the original cluster out of it.

Normally, I could use VagDashCom to get the SKC out of the Cluster, allowing us to adapt clusters and keys.

In this case, however, all I have is the replacement cluster.

Does anyone with VagDashCom experience know if we can get the old SKC out of the ECU, or am I sunK?

Do we have to tow it to the stealer just to adapt the damned cluster?

The replacement cluster is brand new.

You might try asking over at the VagDashCom forums. Most of the guys speak english and seem pretty helpful.
