Hello,

This is for 2014 JSW with 35k miles.... she has been doing that for few months after last warranty repair. Cant remember before the last repairs.

Once I go WOT, she goes retarded instantly at 3k rpm and P3 shows 5 psi then i stomp again, goes to 8 psi but dropping slowly.

Whats the problem? No codes yet. No CEL.

Only way to stop is to park the car and turn it off then crank her. Shes fine.

When I do the WOT again, she does it again.

Please help?

Swap cylinder one GP to cylinder two and see if it continues.

You'll likely have to put up with it until it throws a code for any warranty service.

It's likely you've got one combustion sensor going, but it's not enough to throw a code (believe it takes two as they average measurements across cylinders).

This is most likely limp mode due to boost deviations, P0087 is for low rail pressure though.

Best to hook up VCDS and log rail request vs actual and boost request vs actual over a drive cycle while trying to get it to act up.

Which channels would I use to log that function?

Yep most likely. My laptop is fully charged now at friend’s house changing bulbs to LED’s.

My '09 would do this, but I didn't have to shut it off to straighten up. I wouldn't see any performance issues. Just the glow plug light flashing on hard accel. Curious to know what you find out.

Yep, I went to one shady VW and they said nothings wrong. I stormed out and slammed door cuz it was an huge insult and I have VCDS and its all right there!

So I am here at other VW as early bird and they are the one who found the 5th solution to my fuel pump cut off. Yea literally 5th time. It was danged wiring from fuel pump to the ecu and somewhere else, it was a mess.

Whoever did this in NJ with previous owner...... did this. So she has been running beautiful except 3k rpm issue as posted earlier.

Ok my visit was completed in 2 hours today. They “confirmed” that its the fuel filter going bad. I told them they should have replaced the filter once they replaced fuel pump.... they swallowed their pride and covered the fuel filter replacement at no cost. Test drove her and seems good and smoother than before... few hours later i kept revving to 90-100 and boom, glow plug flashing again.

Will keep testing to see if GP comes flashing again or not.

Bummer! Trying to replace fuel filter on my this weekend if time allows. But only because I don't know when it was last done. Was hoping you found your issue.

Went to vw today... told them to check the damn car. So they did and suspects the fuel filter was clogged so they replaced it. I said no charge! Because they’re supposed to replace filter once they replace failed fuel pump cuz it already spread metal shards/bits inside. So the manager swallowed his pride as i literally saw it in my own eyes lol so he said ok no charge.

Got the car back within 2 hours, awesome! Anyway I Drove most of the day. Shes doing a lot better. Smoother. But bang! Same crap happens. Retarded timing and GP flashing and CEL just came on right after I floored to get the heck out of a idiot’s way.

One guru suggested about cleaning the meter valve. I will try that idea this weekend.

Done and fixed. Fuel meter valve is the culprit.

Found tiny specks and cleaned. She drives like new after that. Good riddance.

That's good news. That wasn't my issue. Andrew of CP3 fame was kind enough to send me a spare valve to run and see if that changed anything. It didn't, but I am glad it fixed it for you!!

Oh yes, Andrew is the da man! He is the one who instructed me on how to clean it. Truly simple and amazing difference! Made my car start easier now. Smoother acceleration. Makes me tempted for malone tune 2 and delete kits.

Care to share those instructions? It sounds like it's something worthwhile to do as a preventative maintenance.

sadly... it was hpfp all along......,, fuel tank was coated in mold/mildew due to sitting 2 years as a former buyback car. 6 months/5k miles and 5 HPFP later.... LOL they cleaned it up and replaced everything. good to go! just a FYI/update. after that she was CP3 swapped and deleted immediately after the 5 hpfp and 6 months of nightmare.
