Possible Passat Purchase

I am thinking about upgrading from my ALH Jettas ti a 2015-2017 Passat TDI or 1.8t.

What will I need to be able to work on these? Does VCDS still work? I’m sure I’ll need a new cable.

It all depends on what cable version you have.

If you have one of the older cables (e.g. Hex-USB or K-II), then No, it will not be compatible. But if you have anything that has CAN (e.g. Micro-Can, Hex+CAN) Then Yes it will be compatible.

Thanks. I did try my USB-Hex But it didn’t work. Looking for a Hex-Can cable.

I traded my old one in towards a model that will work with 2012 -15 TDIs if I remember correctly it cost <$200
