Some malone dealers will make an exact copy of the original software and can revert it back after a tune with no evidence of a tune.
Not according to someone here who was obviously familiar with what exactly happens when you do it. What he said is it set a non-resttable bit and even if you swap it back when the dealer plugs in to it VW is aware of the tampering with in minutes. True or not, I don't know but it's worth consideration. Some malone dealers will make an exact copy of the original software and can revert it back after a tune with no evidence of a tune.
my dealer has done it successfully. Not according to someone here who was obviously familiar with what exactly happens when you do it. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not yet.. TL,DR
But a quick google search of APR and dead / fried ECU turns up tons of results.

yea, there are lot of ECU fried with APRs. I had APR and did have fuel issues which the car wasnt running good so I switched to Unitronic, issues went away and the car ran sooo much better. For my 2002 MK4 GTI 1.8T, the ecu was fried with APR and APR refuses to cover the charge for new ecu. So APR can go **** themselves.I don't know if this has been mentioned or not yet.. TL,DR

I've had the APR tune on my 2012 since it was about 6 months old.And the first one was 2012.. If you can find good stories about the APR tune link away. All I saw were horror stories.

I'm not a huge APR fan by any means; but there are plenty of happy APR customers with tunes running for 100,000 miles or more... The failures are just a lot more vocal...And the first one was 2012.. If you can find good stories about the APR tune link away. All I saw were horror stories.
