New to us 2015 Touareg Lux

I missed the 2011 Touareg I sold back to VW in February and wanted another. After a few weeks of searching I found the right one. The wife and I just returned from a trip to California to pick up a 2015 Touareg TDI Lux in silver with 22K miles. It’s in great condition with just a couple minor nicks on the outside. We drove it back the 469 miles today. I only got 25.6 mpg hand calced, but there was a long (50 mile) mountain road with lots of grades, twists, and turns that I was driving fast on. On the flat the computer was showing 32 mpg, final on the 25.6 hand calc computer showed 28.

That's about right, when I drive my 2016 on flat roads at 65-70 I get 30-32 MPGs. Pushing the car around up and down mountains and aggressive driving will get you in the 20s .

Mine is getting 28 mpg, so its around 30ish Im happy

With a gasser you would get mid-upper teens with the same driving, be happy with close to 30,I am.

yea but miss my Sportswagon TDI at 42MPG

My Passat TDI is averaging about 41 mpg on the total commute, the 2015 Touareg won’t see nearly as many miles as my wife doesn’t drive as much. My 2011 Touareg was in the 26 mpg range for mixed driving with some all highway trips of 30 mpg and some all city tanks in the 24 range. On multiple cross country trips the 2011 was averaging between 29 and 30...certainly better than any other SUV of this size/weight.
