Can anyone tell me if the Golf Tdi Mk5 PD has relay 109?
If so where is it located?
If not,is there an equivalent relay that does the same thing,as my symptoms suggest this componant could be the culprit

Cheers

I do not believe that there is a relay 109 on the MkV, but there is definitely an equivalent. It is located under the instrument panel, and can be accessed by removing the dash panels on the drier's side. In my case I had an intermittent loss of engine power (engine would shut off at random). I think it was relay 406, but I am not sure off the top of my head. I will investigate and post back.

According to my purchase receipts, it was relay 460, fuel pump relay that was the culprit in my case. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot mishkaya, just what I needed to know.
How did you test the relay? Or was it visibly blown?
When your engine cut out,was it hard to start again?

Relay looked fine, the way I tested it is that there are two of those relays under the dash. When I switched them the problem migrated. When the engine cut out, it would not start at all (no aux fuel pump). I was able to source a relay same day for a few bucks. Carry a spare in the glove compartment ever since.
