Hi,
I have a 2004 T5 with the AXC 1.9tdi engine and the Borgwarner BV39 turbocharger. The turbo is leaking large amounts of exhaust gas where the VNT lever enters the exhaust chamber. The exhaust gas makes its way into the van leaving it undriveable. The turbo is fine otherwise and was replaced 1500 miles ago.
I imagine there is some issue with the seal. I've scoured the web and can find many instances of this problem, but no fixes or description why this happens.
Would this be a turbo replacement? Can the seal be cleaned from the outside?
Many Thanks.
