I got an error on the way up to a rodeo this weekend, and noticed this past week the clutch felt like it slipped a few times (even though it's a DSG). When I got the error, the glow plug indicator blinked, and the MFI said "service engine now" or something to that extent. Even though I could still shift gears, I wasn't getting any throttle response. I coasted to a driveway off the shoulder, turned off the car, back on after about 30 seconds, and was able to keep driving. CEL went off, but thankfully the code was stored so I could pull with VCDS when I got home.

I tried googling the error both on here and myturbodiesel, and it looks like it might be the throttle pedal assembly, but I'm not certain. Has anyone else seen this error before?

My Google Foo seems to think the throttle peddle assembly is the root cause of the problem.

I'm thinking the same, but there isn't much by way of information specific to Mark VI TDIs.

Yeah, from what I gather from older generations tdi's and gtis seem to point to the throttle peddle assembly. Though I didn't get into details of the threads that I've found.

You could also maybe try cleaning the throttle sensor contacts in the peddle assembly with electronic contact cleaner.

I believe that you can monitor (or log) the actual output of the accelerator pedal position sensor with VCDS. This might give you some more information.

Have Fun!

Don

P.S. I think that you can monitor it with your Polar FIS+ as well.

any resolution on this? My vcds kicked out the same codes after same symptoms.
Good question. I've only been driving the Golf for the last week on a 13 state road/business trip. From what little information I was able to glean, it seems that replacing the foot pedal would be the solution. Some people suggested electrical contact cleaner, but given how important the foot pedal is, I'm more inclined to just replace it.

I suggested the contact cleaner more along the lines of a last resort.

I agree that simply replacing it would be the best fix for the problem if it's not a problem with wiring.
