Hi all. I hope that someone can help me. I purchased a 1997 Jetta TDI...I love the car and the fuel economy!!! Well, I had to replace the battery last week and of course the radio is now in "safe" mode. The previous owner gave me the radio code and how to put the code in. His steps were to press mode and scan at the same time, then put in the code. It seems that I have to hold mode and scan down until the display changes. I then release mode and scan and put in the code..but it is not working. Do I have to continue to hold mode and scan while entering the code?
