Has anyone out here tried the Hot Shot Extreme diesel fuel treatment and the engine oil treatment and if so what is your option on them?
Just might be another snake oil but one can't say till they have tried it.

Most products that make claims that are to good to be true usually are snake Oil. Power Service or Standadyne are great for fuel, however, there is no oil additive that will make your engine last longer or perform better.

Just amazing that folks fall for this snake oil stuff. People that market that kind of stuff always count on the stupidity of strangers.

There is a YouTube Video, that is circulating, from March 2013, where the Unscientific lab test, shows D2 being heated to 200F and for some time (they never diclose how long), the untreated D2 changes colo(u)r from its normal amber tint to a supposidly a darker colo(u)r.

What is claimed, is that the return D2 after warmed, and returned to the Fuel Tank will add to the "coaking" of the fuel lines, and make the injector nozzles have deposits at the tip, and inhibit fuel burning.

The claim is that "Residue is left behind and contaminating those injectors", with the comment on the Video added by the publisher.

Dirt and water in your fuel system steal the power from your diesel. Your engine needs an extreme cleaning. Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Extreme is a new and powerful formula designed to rejuvenate your diesel's fuel system's performance. Add a dose of Diesel Extreme at your next fill up and your engine's fuel system will be cleaned, restored and boosted to its original performance power.
....

The Main components of the product are a blend of D2 and 2-EHN , the details of 2-EHN can be found in this paper from 1998 sponsored by Ethyl Corp.

Kulinowski, A., Henly, T., and Stocky, T., "The Effect of 2-Ethylhexyl Nitrate Cetane Improver on Engine Durability," SAE Technical Paper 981364, 1998, doi:10.4271/981364.
Essentially, it says that adding 7500ppm to the fuel

"At the end of the test, engine wear and deposit comparisons were made to determine the effect of high cetane improver treat rates on engine durability."

and

"After 1000 hours of operation, the engine running on fuel treated with 2-EHN cetane improver exhibited lower engine wear and deposits than the engine run without cetane improver. Analysis of oil samples drawn every 100 hours indicated no difference in wear metals or other physical properties when cetane improver was used. Fuel analyses demonstrated that 2-EHN did not degrade under the high operating temperatures of this modern heavy-duty diesel engine."

This is only for the fuel treated in 1998 with a 7500ppm dosing of 2-EHN (2-Ethylhexyl Nitrate) on a PRE-ULSD engine.

in this thread about 2-EHN, https://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=190529 , a comment is made that the 2-EHN Turns from clear to a murky brown when exposd to air after afew days.

so, there is the source of your dark coloured fuel test in the video.

Does the Dark color affect the "cleanliness' of your fuel system?

I have my doubts.

So, if any other additive is 50% D2 plus "Mystery Oil", and the rest is chemistry conditioners, essentially you are paying excessively for the fuel treatment additive.

Depending, on your locale, there already is a minimum additive in the D2 that arrives at the pump.

Hot Shot Secret - Diesel Extreme Conditioner

Saw a listing on Amazon.com (no shipping to Canada), for the product shipped as $32 for a 64 oz jug.

The same pricing is available for the Stanadyne.

So, based on Retail Pricing, the product is no better, or no worse than any other additive.

You only get what you pay for, and in this case the marketing does not improve upon the claims.

It is better than nothing.

It is no better than your other treatment.

It is no better than B5 already added at the pump level in some states.

You can get here for some 32 bucks for 64 Oz's. One can check their site for locations to get. I got out it out 401 west to Dixie Rd., and north on Dixie Rd to Britannia left/west on Britannia to # 1400 Rd. Britannia is just a stone throw north
of the 401. B5 would be great like you say but that is in the US only and not here. There is no were to get in Ontario is there ? So 2 stroke oil and an additive of some type.
