Guess drivers side mirrors are a hot item

My wife had a little problem backing out of the garage. I need to find a replacement powered mirror for my Galactic Blue Jetta. Looks like the bottom black piece, and internals are OK, just need the surrounding colored part, although whole assembly would be fine.

Thanks!

If i buy a complete mirror, I'll send you the cap for free, as long as you cover shipping and packing costs.

If Tongsli doesn't mind separating it out before shipping me his mirror (i'll ask) you can get it off of him. I'm sure his price will be reasonable.

I can't guarantee a color match, since I don't know what color his mirror is, but i can't imagine a re-paint would cost all that much.

Cheers.

Thanks for the offer! I was hoping for a color match, but might take you up on it if I don't find one...

Good luck! (although unfortunately, I don't think the odds are in your favor) I'd try car-part.com. I'm not sure if the cap is going to stay with Tongsli or not (it's green, if it matters), but i'll let you know where it ends up.

Well, the mirror cap is going to Mark, but you need to see if yours has two screws that hold it in place.

If it does not, I have another cap that I believe is the other style without the screws.

A new, unpainted cap is $27.00 from Impex. You could buy spray paint from VW at $15.00 per can for color and clear coat and paint it yourself.

FYI: I won't need that green cap, so if you're going to buy one from impex, might as well take this one for free. Be a shame to let it go to waste. Unless of course, you want it back, lito...

Mark,

Don't need it. He should verify the style of attachment first. Also, it's much easier to paint the primed mirror cover. You have to do alot of sanding to get the clear coat off the OEM (green) mirror just to get to the point of painting it again.

Then, it gets too thick. Don't ask me how I know this

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if it might be easier to paint a new, primered cap. At $27 plus $15 for paint, doesn't seem too expensive. If only if my painting skills were there
