Default ABS, ESP and Brake Lights on Dash

Hello All,

I'm hoping that maybe someone will be able to help with an issue? I have with 3 lights that I have on the dash. All came up at once upon starting the car.

They are the ESP (amber), ABS (amber) and the brake light, flashing red and beeps 3 times - they stay on.

I have ran VCDS on it and got :-

Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 6Q0-907-37x-ESP.lbl
Part No: 6Q0 907 379 Q
Component: ESP 5.7 front H03 0000
Coding: 0000000
Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000

2 Faults Found:
00778 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85)
005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation
01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded
000 - -

I found an article on the web suggesting this ;-

Basic Setting

Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Calibration
[Select]
[03 - ABS Brakes]
[Fault Codes - 02]
[Done, Go Back]
Start Engine (session still running).
Turn steering wheel at least 30 ° left and back straight ahead.
[Meas. Blocks - 08]
Group 005 Field 1 (Steering Angle Sensor -G85-)
Specification: 0.0 °
Tolerance (when straight): ±5.0 °
[Done, Go Back]
[Security Access - 16]
Enter 40168
[Do It!]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 001
[Go!]
[Done, Go Back]
[Fault Codes - 02]
All fault codes should have disappeared.
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Problem was, when I went to Security access - 16, it would not accept the 40168 code.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the issue or any other code I could use? Is there a way to reset the security code??

Thanks in advance.

I have a thought as to what might be going on. Can you please post a full Auto-Scan from the vehicle, I'd like the "see the big picture". Please make sure the VIN is shown in case I need to look up additional info from Partslink24.com for PR codes.

Regards.

You are using a pirated copy of our software. As you might expect, we (Ross-Tech) are not inclined to assist those who purchased counterfeit versions of our product.

Tru turning the steering wheel lock to lock.
Similar things happen when you disconnect the battery.

If resetting the steering calibration does not work, Try cleaning all the grounds. I am unfamiliar with the Polo, presumably is also has and engine space fuse/relay box that has a number of fuse links & connections it's exterior, if so, clean those connections also.

You got that from him refusing to paste the complete info, omitting the "VCDS 12.12.0" part?

Honestly, I was wanting to see if there were other issues in other modules. But there is no reason to edit out info from VCDS. No one is paying for internet by the byte.

Default Genuine Scan Info

Hello All,

Thank you for your input and suggestions.

I am no nearer finding out what the issue may be, but looks like the abs module has lost its coding?

I have 2 scans from my polo, one when there were no lights on the dash and a scan when I do have lights on the dash.

The latest scan is done with VCDS 17.1 (lights on dash) , the earlier one with 15.7. (no lights on dash)

P.S

I did try this

[Select]
[03 - ABS Brakes]
[Fault Codes - 02]
[Done, Go Back]
Start Engine (session still running).
Turn steering wheel at least 30 ° left and back straight ahead.
[Meas. Blocks - 08]
Group 005 Field 1 (Steering Angle Sensor -G85-)
Specification: 0.0 °
Tolerance (when straight): ±5.0 °
[Done, Go Back]
[Security Access - 16]
Enter 40168
[Do It!]

But it doesn't accept the 40168 code - could this have been changed?

Is there any way to reset the code or find out what it may be by using VCDS?

Thanks
