A3 Jetta JB ECU with Rocketchip 3 installed for a few months. Little hose inside upgraded to silicone. Works in all NA Jetta TDIs, no matter what your ECU suffix is.

The deal is you Paypal me $400. I'll ship you the RC3 ECU, and you swap it into your car. You then ship me back your JB ECU (no ED ECUs, please), and I'll refund you $200. If I know you, straight swap for $200.

I need to get the ECU back in a timely fashion, so you have 7 days after delivery to ship back and provide me a tracking number. Daily deductions to deposit will be made after the 7 day window expires. It takes less than an hour to swap ECUs, so no excuses. Procedure link below for your review.

I'd like to make this happen soon. Jetta will soon be sold, and potential new owner (fellow CinciTDI member)does not want all the mods this car has. Gonna put the ECU/injectors back to stock to control costs for him.

Paypal is the E Mail address in my profile. When I receive payment, I will ship the ECU within 24 hours by USPS priority mail with $500 insurance. Return shipping of your ECU must have ECU replacement cost insurance/tracking #.

PM or E Mail if interested. Paypal notifications get immediate attention!

If you're gonna be at the TDIFest, I can do the swap there. I have a spare ECU, but need an additional one for another project.

Default Swap: A3 Jetta JB ECU w/ RC3

Bruce?
will it work in a '97 Passat? My friend Kurt may be interested since he has now driven a chipped TDI for the first time

I've scanned his ECU at least a dozen times but cannot remember if he has a JB or a GQ.
lemme know. 210 862 7502

Sorry, Rob. This ECU will only work in an A3 Jetta.

A B4 Passat ECU will make an A3 Jetta run, and vice versa.

The downside is that there will be a CEL either way. ECUs are looking for different things in their correct cars. Much better to have the correctly coded ECUs in correct places.

OK, back to the swap thread.

Will this smoke like a train with stock 184's? I already have the UP chip in mine and it smokes a fair amount at any reasonable amount of throttle.

Couldn't you just put the stock socketed chips back in?

I bought a GQ ecu from for my Passat 96. Jeff @ Rocketchip, Stage 3, and I didn't had to send my ecu, didn't have any CORE charge like you, and if I sell my car I still have it

All that for 190 bucks. no timeframe include.
