I'm not sure is if this was already noted but make sure the copper seals on the injectors aren't leaking for an accurate reading.

Excellent advice!
After becoming acclimated to some significant exhaust leaks I failed to discover I had a leaking injector (became unseated)
Not that I was interested in doing a compression test, but had I performed one I might have missed this leaking injector: well, maybe not because when I finally got around to pulling off the engine cover I saw soot all over the place!
