Turbo lag and trans downshifting

Hello! I have noticed that after the “fix” the turbo lag is terrible now lol. Which that doesn’t bother me much but the other problem I have is, the car doesn’t like to downshift. Say if I slow down to go around a turn, I press the gas pedal halfway down or so and it won’t downshift. Then I push it further and it will aggressively downshift two or 3 gears. Anyone else experiencing anything like this? I have a 2010 Jetta

Have you done a throttle adaption reset yet?

No I have not. Is that something the dealer has to do?

Nope. It's a super easy first step when the adaptive throttle or shifting is acting up. Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor. Turn on ignition but do not start the engine. Keep the accelerator pedal pressed for at least 15 seconds. Turn off the ignition. Drive your VW, carefully and allow it to change gears at low RPM for the first 10 minutes.

If it doesn't work you are not out much. It resets some of the learned behavior and can sometimes clear things up.

Okay so I tried that and it didn’t seem to change anything. Is there anything else to try?

Sure fixed my erratic throttle response.

If that didn't do it you probably need VCDS or the dealer to look at it. Sorry.
