Auto transmission downshifting issue

Hey guys, I have an issue with my 2001 Jetta TDI automatic transmission. When the vehicle slows down (not pressing on the breaks) after going between 70-80km/hr, the car jolts. This vehicle also did belong to my father, so could it maybe happen because the car is being used by a different individual and it's a different style (as in I don't drive as aggressively as my father)? If anyone else has had this issue, could you please throw me a suggestion? Thanks

Have you changed the fluid and filter? Also with VCDS you can change the "mode" of the auto. "Adaptive" means the tranny starts
thinking, lol, ie changing the way it shifts as to how it's driven.
Jeff of RC put mine in "cruise" mode. I also drove the shifter,
shifting it manually, up and down.

The fluid change and driving it manually made a huge difference to
the transmission. It went from, OMIGOD I've got to do the swap
(at 123k on the clock), to, hey, this thing'll go a lot more miles.

I did the swap anyway, an expensive exercise fer sure, but I'm planning on running the car till it drops. See if you can revive
the 01M, and if you want to make it last, put a transmission cooler
on it.
