One owner, I bought new in March 2005. 196,100+ miles currently. Have original window sticker and purchase invoice. Also have every invoice for all service done and all parts ever replaced.
Hate to let it go, but close relative passed away and left me a low mileage Ford Ranger pick-up. I also just changed jobs and now drive only one mile each way to and from work. Love this car! Consistent 40+ MPG on every tank fill. Very reliable and fun to drive car. Always well taken care of.
GLS model (moon roof, Monsoon stereo, power windows, locks, mirrors, etc.). Also has cold air package (heated seats, mirrors, w/shield washers). All options/accessories work.
Have always used 505.01 synthetic motor oil, changed every 6-7,000 miles. Have used Amsoil European Formula Oil since 2007, a 505.01 approved oil.
Dealer installed items when purchased new: all 4 OEM mud flaps, chrome grille slats, heavy rubber GOLF floor mats. Have original carpeted floor mats that have never been used that will go with car.
First timing belt replaced at 83,000, second done at 165,000. Work done by Jeff’s VW in Mooresville, IN, suggested TDI mechanic from this website. Have invoices for both. Water pump and serpentine belt replaced both times as well.
Had peeling clear coat on roof about 3 years ago, had roof repainted ’05 VW white. Paint work done at VW dealer Falcone VW body shop in Indianapolis. Have invoice.
Original wheels started pitting 2 years ago around valve stem hole, would slowly leak air on 2 wheels because valve stem would not seal around pitted stem hole. Replaced wheels with aftermarket 15” wheels, same size as original. Adapted center cap with VW center cap emblems. Rear spoiler is aftermarket and added shortly after buying car.
No tears or stains on interior seats, had seat covers most of its life. Only engine mod is a K&N cold air intake. Have original air cleaner that will go with car. Has had one clutch replacement, have invoice. Spare tire has never been out of car.
In last 60 days front brake rotors and brake pads have been replaced, as well as the battery (H7, 60 month). Info on prior posts to this website: did replace coolant temp. sensor (only time check engine light has ever been on), did not do the “ventectomy” on the fuel tank.
Negatives: rock chips on hood that have been touched up as they occurred. Door ding on driver’s door from some “ass-hat” at the local Kroger store. Couple scratches to rear bumper cover that are touched up.
NADA value: $4,900.00, KBB value: $4,967.00. Asking $4,400.00. Any questions or more info needed, just ask.
