DSG Solenoid 2 Problem

Hello, new member here. I have a 2006 Jetta TDI with DSG transmission , it shifts perfectly until it gets hot and then flashes PRNDS , downshifts into 1st and goes to limp mode . I`ve checked for any obvious wiring issues along the harness and checked the transmission oil level and condition and did an autoscan

That Pressure Control Solenoid 2 which I think is the N216 Solenoid seems to be the problem.. My First question is do i go ahead and swap it out or are there other things to rule out first ? Secondly is how to positively identify the N216 . Is it marked N216 ?

Get wiring diagram and check powers and grounds at the connector on the DSG round connector if all is good then the Mectronic unit is bad or the solenoid in the mech unit is bad I belive you can test and replace just solenoid not 100 percent but do believe so a new mech unit is super expensive and I believe it only stocked and shipped from germany
its a 1000 dollars plus

having a very hard time finding a relevant wiring diagram ! there is a couple videos showing the mechatronic disassembly and he points out the N216 solenoid but it`d be nice to know exactly which one it is once i get in there. I`m hoping to be able to do a resistance test it while it`s still hot but it`d be easier if it failed completely instead of intermitadely

one more question before i swap out solenoids....does anyone know about the adaptation for the new solenoid , do i have I only have to go through the adaptation process after the new one is installed or do I need to do something else with the VCDS prior to swapping them

I think Kerma has a replacement Mechtronic unit in the $800's with the updated software. Has the fluid and filter been changed every 40k miles? That is a must do if you want these transmissions to last. Also check your grounds under the battery box.

i`m not too sure about the 40k services as I bought the car used but the oil looked almost new and when i opened it up everything looked perfect. I swapped the solenoid out for a new one and did a service but I`m still getting the same code....very frustrating and I`m wondering if the whole unit should be changed or could there be something I`m missing ?

Did you test the solenoid resistance before swapping it out to confirm it was the problem?
