hi there,

I have a ahu tdi and when I hook up the vag com cable under the "idle speed smooth running adjustment" the readings for the the 4 yl are as follows. cyl 1 .35 cyl 2 .31 cyl 3 .49 and cyl 4 is blank is this normal?

Thanks in advance

If this is reading I think it is, then yes it is normal. The numbers are relative to the #3 cylinder which would always be 0.

Those are really nice readings! IIRC, acceptable difference is -2 - +2.

A quick question: what are the factors mostly influencing those radings? In other words, where to start troubleshooting if those readings start approaching their limit? Injectors? IP? anything else? TIA.

Generally, the injectors. Clean them using the injector cleaner of choice. If that doesn't work, or if they have 150K on them and are giving bad readings, replace them. They are wear items - just takes a while for them to wear enough to force their replacement. Maintanence means replacing items at your convenience before they cause a big problem.
