2011 Jetta TDI homelink garage opener

Does anyone know if the 2011's tdi have a home link of any sort? It doesn't seem like VW has an oem part for this model. Maybe a sun visor from a similar model (maybe different year) that has a home link would fit the 2011 Jetta TDI?

If there's nothing possible, I'll probably do my own cuts and tricks to install a home link somewhere.

2015 Jetta has it in the Drivers Visor....

drivers visor homelink is prob the cheapest and easiest to do.

The same sunvisor in your 2011 is also used in the 2015.

While the 2011 does not have a homelink visor, the 2015 does.

Since the 2011 visor is used in the 2015, it only stands to reason that the 2015 homelink visor can be used in the 2011.

The part number in grey is 5C6-857-551-AA-2F4 and in beige it is 5C6-857-551-AA-4T6.

List price on the grey is $99.38 and beige is $105.68.

Which is CRAZY because the non-homelink visors list for $171 and $164!

The MkIV/B5 home link visors are over $600!!

If anyone is interested, I have an auto-dimming rear view mirror w/Homelink functionality that I used on my 2010 Jetta TDI. When I sold back my 2010 to VW on the emissions buy-back, I put the factory rear view mirror back in it. I would certainly sell my mirror if someone wants it.

Would a 2015 Golf Sportwagen use the same visor?

No.

The Sportwagen of that generation shares parts with the Golf & GTI.

I havent found a homelink visor for the MkVII Golf or GTI. But I will keep looking.

Do you have multiple garage door openers? If so, what you linked to would only work with a single garage door opener (although I suppose it could open 2 garage doors at the same time, and also close both at the same time, given it would have to be coded to 2 doors instead of 1 - but that wouldn't be advisable).

Yes but we only open one door from the car so that won't be a problem. The Mini pickup is on the other side and it rarely gets opened unfortunately.

That looks pretty neat, almost OEM. I wonder how the color/finish will look next to the OEM trim pieces.

The double apex parts are perfect matches. I had one of their buttons in my mk6 JSW and have a two button set up in my MK7 Golf. Both look totally oem.

For the double apex users. Did you go with the battery powered version or the 12v version? Pros/cons? 12v seems better but I also would rather not splice or cut any wires if I can avoid it.
