I was only able to do 2 runs at the drag, my second race even after missing 2nd gear at the begining of the race, my trap was at 98.1 mph, , then to my dissapointment they closed down the strip cause my buddy Rich NB TDI had spilled g12 all over the track. so I was not able to go for the 3rd time.

98mph is very good! You need to get on another 1/4 strip mate.. low 14's are in your future!

Best Time so far

My best 1/4 mile time so far is as follows:

Car: 2004 Golf TDI Auto Triptronic Chip tune and Straight exhaust

RT .414
60' 2.322
330 6.654
1/8 10.272
MPH 67.53
1000 13.410
1/4 16.063
MPH 82.56

The car was at max until slightly beyond or at 1000 foot marker and then went to limp mode so I was not really accelerating at the finish as much as just maintaining speed from earlier in the run. I hope to have an update with a much better time after the Drag day GTG in March. Since I now have a 17/22 turbo with a new tune to match. :)

Take care

For the record, I would prefer entries to the log to be sent to me by PM, but I will add in the above now. :)

I all, as you can see I am new here. The above times seem quick but to be honest I wouldn't know what quick is as I have never been into racing. Just wondering what would a factory Golf TDI 2L do in the 1/4 or compare those times to what a factory GTI or Mustang with a v8 do.
I love reading all the threads in this site.. very interesting stuff

A 140hp 2 litre golf I would think should do a 16.5 second quarter mile OK

No idea on a V8 mustang though - perhaps a 13 second depending on what type? (we don't get many v8 Stangs in the UK.... :D)

My spreadsheet is adjusted for your new time, but I usually wait for 2 or 3 more updates before updating on here. ;) If I get a couple more fresh 1/4 mile times sent to me by PM I will get them on and update the whole thing. :)

ETs for stock TDIs?

Can anyone post ETs for some bone-stock TDIs? I think having that baseline would make an interesting comparison with modded TDIs, especially between body types.

In this country, a bone stock pd130 TDI tends to do about 16.5 to 17 seconds down the 1/4 mile. A bone stock PD100 probably do about 17.5 to 18. ETs roughly 90mph for the pd130 / 85mph or less for the pd100

Bobby - Your time is down and noted

Updated the #1 spot for the new time.

Will re-host the updated table if I get 1 or 2 more fresh times sent to me by PM, :)

Trap speed 100.6 miles.

Are you serious about the 100.6 mph trap speed? Other cars in the 16 second area are around 85mph for the same time. :)

Well, 159km/h is about 98 to 99mph, but still does seem a little over-calculated. The time shall stay though until you get to another track ;)

That slip is my first run. My second run results were a bit better and are the ones you indicated in the excel sheet.
