I love my hill-holder and DSG. So much mature than the Subaru version on my Forester (M-5).

Be happy you have hill hold. It's very effective. I believe the implication is that the OP slipped/rode her clutch to get out of the steep incline, as well as in heavy stop/go traffic. You do not have the same issues with the DSG.
That wasn't my point or my question.

What I was asking was do the 6MT cars have hill hold? If so, it should have helped the OP in getting up the ramp and not put the full brunt on the clutch.

Answers:
1. Yes, 6mt equipped Passats have the hill-hold feature. It can be disabled by someone who has VCDS. I had mine disabled.

2. No way of knowing.
