B5.5 Brake Shudder

Hi all,
Been having a problem from time to time with my brakes shuddering. It only happens sometimes and only when about to stop. Its like the abs is kicking in or the brakes are slipping.

No abs light comes on or traction control either.
Car is a 2003 1.9 TDI AWX engine

Pads and disks look in good condition and appear to be fairy new. Im not sure as i only have the car a month
All control arms in good condition and some are new. Wheel balancing has been done and also tracking with four brand new tyres
Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you

ABS coming on when it shouldn't be. Most likely a rusty sensor and/or tone ring.

Thanks for reply, new abs sensor fitted on driver side two weeks ago but was doing it before that maybe the other side could be faulty, i will check it out!

Best action would be to come to a stop with an ABS capable scanner on the car (like vcds) - the culprit wheel will drop to 0mph before the rest.
