The joint should be forward (forward with respect to the car) when the car is idling, as seen in the picture below. If your flap is jammed, when the car is idling and the joint is in the rearward (in-car) position, prodding the linkage with a screwdriver wedged against the intake manifold casting should get the linkage to 'pop', it'll be freed, and will pivot forward. This was my case, the same as Ray Martinez'.

When I first got the P2015 code, the ring was off the arm. I pushed it back, but it went back off as soon as I ran the engine.
Now the arm stays in the rearward position with the ring still on. I can push it with a screwdriver to make it flip to the forward position, but after I run the engine, the arm goes back to the rearward position and stays there.
Is my valve actuator motor broken or does the linkage just need lubing?

I will proceed with one of the other fixes once I can figure out how to get the arm to move back and forth.

Once the motor arm simply goes back too far the ecu just turns the motor off. The linkage arm doesn't have to get stuck to trip the code and render the motor inoperable. If we can limit how far back the arm can go to stock specs then it will not happen again.

Do you think you will be selling it by 2014 year-end?

Success! Runonbeer and I tested the repair kit yesterday on two different cars with four different manifolds and the part worked perfectly every time. I am changing a few things in the design to allow it to be more easily installed and will have production parts for sale on my site by very December 10th. (12-09-14: They are now for sale.)

We shot a YouTube video of a brand new manifold with the repair kit in place. The point of posting the video is to show what the butterflies do when you rev up the engine and when you shut it down. Enjoy!: http://youtu.be/cOyTGgi4sCU

Here is a YouTube video of installing the P2015 manifold fix.

Count me in when you get this up for sale. I have the same error code and I've tried making my own "stop" via the site mentioned by mr951 (https://sites.google.com/site/p2015fix/home). The error code went away, but it came back recently. I think I have the screw length set incorrectly. In any case, I'll buy the dieselgeek block when it is officially available.

Jim,
Any update on this? I'd love to give your part a chance on fixing my CEL.

I hope I never need this part but if I do, I'll be all over it!

I've been very happy with your products

Keep in mind that the P2015 repair bracket is a preemptive fix, too. The earlier you limit the travel of the flapper motor, the lower the wear on the linkage. The factory stops are weak, ours are strong.
