Hi,
My Golf Mk5 has just flashed up an icon showing my engine in yellow!
I'm on holiday at the moment so a little worried.

Any ideas?

Looking the web seems to pull up loads of faults :(

Could be any of a number of things. You will need to have someone read the codes and report back. Could be something as simple as a boost leak or a turbo actuator.

If you're not having any performance issues, just get the codes read at your leisure. My number one code has been glow plugs.

Yellow flashing is a general warning that something isn't quite right but not urgent. It's not something dangerous or that will cause damage short term so get it looked at when you get off holiday.

There are so many potential causes it's not worth speculatingwhat it might be. A diagnostic will narrow that down and then there is plenty of internet advice to look at

Thanks for the information guys/gals.

I have read the codes...
Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): No Signal
P3007 - 000 - - - Intermittent

P0673 Cylinder #3 Glow Plug Circuit

P0401 This seems to be...
using http://www.obd-codes.com/p0401
Insufficient EGR Flow

Cleared the Codes

I have just cleared the codes to see if the P0401 code returns.
On the drive P0401 has not come back perhaps I need to run the car more to be sure it was just a glitch?

The Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): No Signal came back :(
So I think I better source a new sensor.
