2006 VW Beetle 1.9L TDI, 184,000 Miles:

About 1 month ago the ABS warning light and the Traction Control warning light started flashing when I would start the car every morning. But, as soon as the engine started, both lights would go off. No warning lights would remain on while operating the vehicle.

Today, the ABS light, the traction control light, and the "Brake" light all lit up when I started the vehicle. and they have been on all day. The brake light flashes 3 times when the car starts, and then becomes silent, but stays "lit up." The emergency break works just fine. The breaks appear to be working fine.

Also, the CRUISE CONTROL stopped working at the same time all of these warning lights went on?

Break fluid level is normal, break pads are at 40%. OBD-II code reader indicates: P0600 'Serial communication link'

HELP ???

Possible a bad brake switch, its two in one, one signal goes to the ecu and other to the brake lights.
If its failed it'll prevent the cruise working.
