Hi,

When one of these compressors fail, does it pollute the whole system, or can I just replace the compressor, and drier?

I am old school, and remember when a compressor failed, you had flush the system, replace the dryer and expansion valve.

Thanks!

When you say fail, are you sure it's grenaded? Many more times the Refridgerant Control Valve is what goes bad. They are replaceable and keeps you from having to buy a new compressor.

Have you put gauges on it and see what kind of output the compressor is doing?

A shop looked at it and said the valve and the compressor failed. Since they looked at it, no pressure on the system now. VCDS even finds faults in the compressor.
