I've noticed that since I put lettering on the back of my TDI (see sig below), the greater the gas guzzler someone drives, the more they notice the lettering on my TDI.

After my first TDI ownership experience and my TDI being my first Diesel, all future vehicle purchases shall be DIESEL vehicles! NO MORE GASSERS!

Hehe. I've love to have a PD 130/150/170 to zoom around in here in the States.

This is the best posting I have seen. I can't stop laughing Dieseldorf. If only all of this would come true, however I thinks its just a dream for now. Keep it coming.

Until my hydrogen-powered wundercar is prepped and ready for me to pull off the dealer lot and into the future, filled with perfect little people with their perrrrfect little jobs - with perrrrfect little flowers lining perrrrrrfect little traffic-free highways, I'll stick with the diesel solution.

Bio-fresh simplicity, durability, and peformance. Available NOW.

Seems to me that vote totals are being represented as percentages.
Kind of confusing initially. A good idea,

Hi,

"Diesel referrals - number of people you have directly or indirectly influenced to consider or buy a diesel"

I didn't see the option to select "100 or more."
I can't even count the number of people who say my website directly influenced their decision to buy a TDI. And that's just to number of people who bothered to take the time to say "Thanks." To those people, I say THANK YOU for the encouragement.

FWIW, I don't consider my site to be a competitor to this one. I tend to view my site as an area to do a little ankle-wading, maybe some hip-wading, for TDI information. TDI Club is where one comes to DIVE IN. Sometimes TDI Club has its "rip tides." But it's mostly a good swim.

Take Care,

Scott

I won't say "never" but I can't see buying a gas car again. My new TDI is an amazing vehicle. It far exceeded my expectations for performance and economy.

Well I am currently trying to convince 2 coworkers to buy a TDI. One has a 120 mile daily commute and the the other has 150 a day. So If there is anyone selling a golf and a jetta in the MD/PA area let me know.

I love my TDI and I would probably get another one if something were to happen to it, but I am too much of an "old-school hot-rodder" to completely give up my gassers. My current truck (van) is a gasser... my next one will probably be a gasser as well... mainly because Ford didn't sell a diesel truck in the late 70's.

There's also the cost/payback ratio. With my TDI, the packback was easy. The savings in fuel will pay for the TDI option within a couple of years. But in a truck I'll drive much less, the savings are not as clear-cut. Plus, the nice modern diesels are usually attached to the not-so-nice (IMO) modern 4X4 drivetrains (80's to early 90's F-350s and pre-Ram Dodges being almost the exceptions).

Then there are old muscle cars... my other "love"... no diesel there, or should there ever be... But again, this is not a car that would get driven a lot and MPG is not a concern.

I bought my TDI for the mileage and the desire for something a bit different. My car previous to it was an Audi A4 Avant 2.8Q. Oddly enough, the guy I sold that car to recently bought a TDI wagon as well and I'd like to think I influenced his decision some.
