Hi, i just got a deal on a 2005 golf with lower miles and a trunk and need to get rid of this car. I've owned it for the past 4 years and 80k or so miles. I've maintained this car to go the distance, but couldn't turn down the deal on a neighbors car.

the good:
5 speed, 60k on clutch
all stock
leather interior, in good shape
very regular 10k oil changes with Rotella t6
yearly fuel filter changes
newer tires
20k on new turbo vnt15
new flex pipe on exhaust
I rebuilt the steering including bushings at 170k
a/c cold, heat hot, seats nice and hot, everything works
working aftermarket am/fm/cassette/ CD receiver

the bad:
has a rusted passenger side rocker and a few random spots on roof and hood, but rocker is worst spot. the rest of the car looks good
has oil leak on rear of motor, I figure it's the valve cover(just replaced valve cover gasget 11/6/15 150K), turbo is dry, uses about 1qt/2000 miles


this car has 248k and climbing, I regularly drive it 500-1000 miles a week without issue.

I don't think that is bad on it at all I had a 2002 I sold last fall for $5700. It only had about 170K on it but my interior was rougher too.

The fact its drinking so much oil is prob the issue. Get that resolved and it prob sell fast.

Offers? Do I hear $1500 offer, perhaps less? I'd like to stard driving my new one. anyone interested in engine transmission? I'd hate to part it, it's too good a car, but if it comes to that...

the pics showing damage, is that rust?

rust in the rocker, I just uploaded some more picts to show a bit more detail. 2 medium sized holes in the rocker and a bit of bubbling paint on the roof over the rear passenger's side window
