Hi!

I just changer my timing belt a few days ago and I have noticed that the indicator on the tensioner moves. When I installed it I put it in the middle og the gap and yesterday after driving a little bit and waiting for the engine to get cold, it had moved to the left of the gap.

When the engine is warm it is in the middle.

Is this normal?

yes

the indicator moves in operation. it also can move depending on where in rotation the engine stops.

the alignment indicators on the tensioner are to be used for alignment only.

It also moves in use. above is before I changed the belt, below is after.

Thanks!

So I should not worry that the indicator is pointing a little to the left of the gap?
I checked right now and it is on the left side inside the gap on a cold engine

If you followed the procedure, I would not worry about it.

Just finished my timing belt a few thousands miles ago and mine also moved after original adjustment. No problem and they talk about that happening in many of the online discussions.
