Hi - Hoping someone can give me some quick guidance. I just came out of Costco this evening (after having replaces the read brake pads this afternoon.)

My Jetta started fine, I backed out of my spot and as I put the car into Drive, I heard a clunk, and the car would not move. Engine sounded fine, but it sounded like possibly a strange sound from the transmission, I'm guessing?

It's a 2006 TDI with DSG. I can shift into D or reverse - no movement upon acceleration. I ended up putting it in neutral and pushing it back into the parking spot.

Any guidance or suggestions? Not sure whether to take it to a transmission place, my nearby independent, or the VW TDI expert 1.5 hours away. Hoping this isn't a huge bill...

Thanks.

Not a tranny expert, maybe Oilhammer or someone else can chime in. I am wondering if the splines wore out on the clutch pack / DMF. I also had a situation where my CV joint bolts fell out. Loud clunk /noise when in gear (axle flopping around).
