air bag light on but no error code

Hi, I am fixing up a 02 Jetta TDI. It was in a minor front end collision and the passenger bag deployed. I bought a new air bag and a new air bag controller (from the dealer) and installed them. I then reset all the error codes with a VAG-COM. VAG-COM now reads completely clean - no error codes on any module. The airbag light on the instrument panel is still on, however, and does not go on in spite of clearing codes, restarting car, etc... Anyone know why else it would go on - any loose connection that would not show up with VAG-COM? Thanks for the help.
