Hi all.

My car seems to run a bit better when the engine is cold. Seems to have better throttle response and slightly better boost pressures. When warned up its still running well but not as well as when cold.

Anything to worry about?

Its an ASV lump with a vnt17 conversion.

Static timing is good, checked it recently.

Just to note I'm referring to engine temperature not weather!

(not sure how to change the tread title back!!)

Timing is backed off by the ECU as engine warms up. Due to many things:intake temps, fuel temp, coolant temp, etc.
When you say static timing is "good", that leaves a big margin. Is it up near the top line??
TDIs like cold weather. Both mine run very well in colder temps.

It's almost bang on the blue line.

I'm having another issue with the ecu at the moment, vag com won't connect atall with the engine running and it's throwing a 01314 code with the engine off so I'm guessing the 2 may be related.?

Could It be anything to do with running nearly 180 bhp on the standard sidemount intercooler?
