In order to know what is wrong:

You have to look up the code.
---------------------------------

In order to look up the code:

You have to know which code to look up.
-------------------------------

In order to know which code to look up:

You have to scan the car for codes.
---------------------------------------

How do you know when to scan the car for codes?

You know to scan the car for codes when the friggen CEL light comes on.
(Or when you are doing scheduled maintenance or just want to check..)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Complicated? LOL

I got the same message today. What did it take to fix your emissions problem?
Haven't gotten it reset yet, but from what I've been told, one of the codes is to let you know that the emission sytem is due for a checkup. Vagcom will reset it

Got a Weird message

My 09 has about 44350 on it. Had it serviced at Grossmans for the 40,000 mile DSG fluid change and oil. They didn't seem to know 100% what they are doing. Eg. they overfilled the oil - dumped all 4 quarts in and when I told them they said that way you're sure its full!

Yesterday I started getting a message: Service in 1000 miles or 106 days. So did they forget to reset the computer at the 40,000 mile service? What else could it be? Who has a VAGCOM north of Nashville?
