so i took the cold air off. put the stock box back on. there was no difference. i got bored the other day and thought id try this,

to me it feels like it does a bit better than the stock box. made a heat shield for it at work and its been running good ever since.

I am running a Mustang V8 cone air box with Amsoil EAA filter. Then a 2 inch tube supplies cool air to the air box.

Bmc

I have just installed the carbon fiber BMC airbox. What a difference. It is well worth the $251 I paid. Check out www.evolutionsports.com, much cheaper than the BMC site.

as far as i understand the fine oil mist from the filter may kill your MAF eventually. the stock element offers way more filter surface area

It took maximum a week to kill my MAF with that kind of filter.

What would happen if you ran without the MAF?

On previous VW, BMW, and Porsche I have used racing filters for years with no issue.

No, but they lay tons of salt om the roads in the Winter... But im only driving my Audi summertime

It took 100,000 miles for a K&N to kill my MAF-- then again... our MAF's don't discriminate.... paper or oiled, it's gonna fail.
