A hard failure will stay until fixed. What does p2999 state?

Sorry it is a p0299 code. what got me confused was "permanent" added to the code number. i found out that is a new category starting with 2010, all my other cars are 2004 or older. in order to remove code it needs multiple drive cycles. anyone knows the best process?

Then I look up p0299 it said low boost pressure, so I would clear it and look for a boost leak or loose hose as a first stab. I think it should go away right after being cleared, usually emissions readiness things are the only ones that take drive cycles to clear out. If you cleared it and it came back as soon as you drove it I'd think that indicates am issue you need to address.
