Road Trip

Hi Everyone - Over 4th of July weekend I plan on doing an 800 mile road trip. My 05 Passat's current mileage is 18,500. Would you recommend doing the 20k mile service before or after the road trip?

How many more miles will you put on in a month???

I anticipate perhaps putting approx. 500 miles between now and the trip.

go ahead and do it before the trip. then you will be running on clean oil, a new fuel filter, and a clean cabin filter (my cabin filter was really dirty at 20k). all i had done at 20k was a freebie oil change from the dealer, a fuel filter, and a cabin filter replacement (which i will do myself next time). nothing else is required. don't let the stealership talk you into an overpriced maintenance package. just MHO.
