Ward\'s AutoWorld Gets it RIGHT

Drew Winter Editorial in the November edition has a very positive commentary on the future of Diesel engines in private vehicles. He drove a Diesel Powered Grand Cherokee and Volvo S80, bothe European spec.

He comments "There's a new generation of Diesels breaking the old rules...Detroit needs to pick the brains of the TDI Club...750 miles per tank and heap distain on 'hamster powered' hybrid..."

Only issue is he mentions a web site - www.tdi-club.com - which I'd never heard of. Obviously he didn't do his homework real well, or he'd have mentioned US!

It may be the PT Cruiser which would make sense because they already sell it with a diesel in other countries. Someone posted and article here in the last month that had a Chrysler rep. mentioning that they were thinking of using the Jeep Liberty as the test vehicle. That would also make sense due to selling that elsewhere with a diesel in it.
