So I listed the car for sale on offerup for initially 1500. After two weeks no offers, and at $1000 quite a few, but at that price does it make more sense to just part it out?
(uneducated buyers who have NO idea about TDI's. "I can drive it with a leaking water pump though, right? it's not like I have to fix it right away?") I don't have the time or really desire to fix it at this point - wife says the passenger seat is "uncomfortable". I think she just prefers wagons. Anyway what is it worth at this point? Would I be better parting it out? Anyone on TDIclub interested?

the good

Newer clutch single mass flywheel with vr6 clutch
Tuned with electronic fuel / boost maps
Brand new Cooper tires cs5 grand touring (80k mile tread life)
2 inch metalnerd lift kit on good bilstein tc's
New (6 months ago) front fenders painted professionally
Heated seats work
Solid suspension all around.
New oe supplier cam and lifters
New front main and cam oil seals
Good rotors and pads all around

The bad
Water pump leaks due to installer error (I cocked the seal.. first time for everything..)
Turbo actuator shot
Trunk requires use of key to open manually.
Blower motor makes noise - should be replaced (not terribly difficult)

There are just too many to list....
Fix it and keep it!

Or fix it up and sell it for a more reasonable amount.

Please, please, do not part it out. They are not making any more of these. All of those repairs are easy. Your trunk issue is 99% of the time the wire harness where it bends. I fix these all the time.
