Awesome car!...when it was running. Lots of power while still averaging 38 mpg city/hgwy. Highly desirable 2DR with 5speed. No power windows and No sunroof. Silver, black cloth interior, just under 200k, no Accidents. Overall, very good condition exterior and interior. Looking to get $4500 (see detailed list of modifications below). If interested I can be contacted directly at couttsdesign@yahoo.com

Recent failure in drivetrain which has resulted in the motor being seized. I don't know what happened to the car to cause the failure. I've had it seen by 2 mechanics already (both of which are on this forums recommended list of mechanics). Basically, both mechanics are recommending an engine replacement. I'm posting here to see if anyone is interested in the car before I commit to having it fixed (which I can't really afford to do right now). I do know that the timing belt DID NOT BREAK and there were no visible fluids coming from the engine. Oil appears to be normal.

Here is a list of modifications from the PO:

18/52 turbo charger: http://www.kermatdi.com/servlet/-strse-157/-dsh-Hammerhead-Turbo-(1852)/Detail

TyrolSport SMIC: http://www.tyrolsport.com/index.php?p=product&id=51&parent=67

Custom “Gator Tune” through Wild Rose Motors in Fullerton. Part of this ECU reflash includes the “EGR delete”, meaning it is tuned to realize that there is NOT a functional EGR valve. Also, the tune works with the injector size and the MAP sensor: http://www.vwtdionly.com/default.asp?newused=5

Power Plus 502 injectors: http://www.kermatdi.com/servlet/-strse-194/POWERPLUS-502/Detail

3-bar MAP sensor: http://tdiparts.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=3+bar+MAP&osCsid=apsu2icbvtl14jovadiq5064p2&x=0&y=0

SouthBend Stage III clutch with 21-lb single-mass flywheel: http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/home.html

Bilstein Sport struts/shocks: http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?make=Bilstein&model=Sport+Shock

H&R sport springs: http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?make=H%26R&model=OE+Sport+Spring+Set

Audi TT front (Lower-rear) control arm bushings: http://tdiparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=700

Brembo slotted rotors: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brakes.jsp?make=Brembo&model=Sport+Slotted+Rotor

Akebono ceramic sport pads (with wear sensor) http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brakes.jsp?make=Akebono&model=Euro+Ceramic+Pads

Braided steel brake lines: http://tdiparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=283 (rear also)

This is the only pic I currently have of the car. However, for those who are interested and in the Socal area, the car is currently located at Wild Rose motors in Whittier, CA if you'd like to view it in person. thanks for reading this long post.

I may be interested but not at that price....it will cost 5 grand to put a new engine in it or about the same for a new 5 speed...I will try to work with you on the price.
