Mr. Red is for sale for $6K or best offer. The car is in Colorado.
I have owned this wonderful car since 2006. I bought it used with 30K miles on it. It now has 161K on it. People buy these cars with 300K on them and just start using them for the next 150K miles – these engines really last.
I immediately fell in love with everything that makes a TDI great – light weight, nimble handling, and outstanding mileage. I live up a canyon road, and my TDI never gets less than 40 mpg commuting to town. I have changed the oil and filter myself every 3000-4500 miles ane entered the event on a log sheet.
Here are some of the things I have done on the car:
- Mounted four Enkei rims, for a saving of 7#/corner, 28# total weight loss.
- Shut off the EGR and cleaned the intake manifold.
- Installed an Odyssey battery behind the rear seats, a 30# weight loss and a noticeable improvement in handling.
- Removed the muffler and put in straight pipe, for a 22# weight loss.
- Most of the time, I only put in 5 gallons when the low fuel light came on, saving #40 for not topping it off. Lighter cars start, turn and stop better!
- Installed a Shine racing coilover kit.
- Installed Euro Sport body stiffener kit.
- Installed Autotech upper and lower stress bar.
- Installed V6 Coraddo air filter housing.
- Installed new front door speakers.
9/16 – Installed new clutch, flywheel, transmission oil, replaced front brakes and pads.
6/16 – installed new S7 turbo, change oil and filter, new mass air flow sensor.
9/15 – repainted rear and front bumper covers.
7/14 – repainted right rear door.
9/14 – bought and installed new gearshift boot and driver’s door switch bezel.
7/14 – install new timing belt, frint crank seal, idler pulley, trailing arm bushings, upper transmission mount (Audi TT).
7/14 – bought new undertray and front splash shields.
5/13 – installed stainless steel upper charge air pipe, large capacity intercooler, Colt Stage 2 camshaft, cam follower and lifter kit, new front left wheel bearing.
5/12 – installed new console ash tray.
4/12 – installed new Bosch injection pump, new glow plug harness.
6/08 – new timing belt, tensioner and rollers.
3/06 – installed exhaust gas temperature gauge and boost gauge.
Can someone please tell me how to post pictures here? My camera doesn't have a URL!
Please feel free to contact me for more info, thanks!

I love the wheels. I'm a huge fan of RPF1s, unfortunately I've never owned a set.

Nice golf. Worth noting, but omitted from your list, it looks like a Mann provent is installed.

Why are you selling Mr. Red ?

Clever -

You are right - it's a bonus for the buyer! I am going to buy the "recently reappeared" slightly used 2010-2015 TDIs - smokin' deals if you ask me.

All - See new price in first post: $5500.
